Waikura Valley
The Waikura Valley on East-Cape is in one of the most remote regions of New Zealand.
The wild, mountainous landscape is the ideal home for Manuka. Here the plants have a particularly high concentration of triketones. Triketone is the ingredient that is responsible for the antibacterial properties of Manuka Oil.
Much of the Waikura Valley is managed by the Waikura joint stations. The aim is to use the natural products from the valley in harmony with nature and the local population. That's what Waikura Manuka stands for.
